Cressi Back-Inflation BCD: Comfortable and Versatile Scuba Diving Gear

The Scorpion is an inflation jacket designed to offer exceptional comfort. Thanks to its modular design, the diver will not feel the burden of a heavy and uncomfortable harness. Its versatile design is suitable for all types of diving, with a sturdy yet lightweight construction (2.45 kg | 5.4 lb size M) and a compact transport volume, yet robust and highly flexible.

The weight pockets are positioned vertically, in line with the tank and behind the pockets. Aligning them with the body and on both sides will increase buoyancy control and stability, making movement easier.

The jacket features two large, laterally positioned and padded zipped pockets for maximum comfort. The high-capacity dorsal air chamber (19 kg size M) maintains a contained external stowage volume, thanks to the elastic containment tensioners that also facilitate the emptying maneuver and prevent air displacement during the dive, which could cause instability.

The fully covered harness is equipped with a comfortable, neutral buoyancy padding made of closed-cell material that prevents water or air accumulation, reducing the jacket's inherent buoyancy and enabling quick drying. The new, highly resistant corrugated hose features a very progressive curvature, and the new upper low-profile exhaust valve with a non-return valve prevents accidental water ingress.

The independent design harness system ensures stability and prevents compression of the chest, armpits, and abdomen due to the bladder's expansion outside the dorsal area and around the tank. The unisex design includes padded shoulder straps with an anatomical shape, similar to traditional backpacks, for stability and comfort. The internal seams avoid friction, even when diving without a wetsuit.

The ventral strap features a new concept, where tightening is achieved by pulling the straps forward, rather than laterally as in other BCDs, making fit control much easier.

The Direct System Inflator has a push-button with wide clearances to prevent sand grain blockage, a vacuum button with a silicone washer seal, and an integrated push-button to avoid unintended inflation. The jacket also has a foldable structure for easy storage, two front-controlled exhaust air valves, and 4 D-rings made of EBS. The fabric is 420 Denier nylon.

The Scorpion is designed in Italy and manufactured in Hungary by Cressi, an Italian brand that has been a pioneer in scuba diving, snorkeling, and swimming equipment since 1946. The product is covered by a 2-year limited warranty.
